The story
The story goes that the idea started on a double date. Rap icon T.I. and his Grand Hustle business partner William "Bem" Sparks were locked inside a medieval-themed escape room with their wives when Sparks leaned over and remarked that someone ought to build a trap music version. Rather than waiting around for traditional arts boards or downtown curators to validate Southern rap culture, they found a warehouse off Travis Street in Bankhead and built it themselves. What was initially slated as a temporary puzzle experience quickly morphed into the world's first museum dedicated entirely to trap music.
