The story

For over 17 years, Prairie Dog Glass has been operating inside the marketplace, melting silica in plain view of shoppers looking for outdoor planters.
The studio runs a stripped-down, hands-on model that skips the gallery pretension. Instead of just selling finished art, they sell shop time by the slice: ten minutes to turn a gather of glass into an ornament, twenty-five for a bowl or vase, thirty for a classic New Mexico glass chili pepper.
