The story
When Chris Wink walked away from co-founding Blue Man Group, he didn't pivot to high-end virtual reality or multi-million-dollar CGI. Instead, he took over a second-floor space inside AREA15 and built a six-room funhouse that feels like a dark blacklight workshop. The trick here is disarmingly analog: six timed infinity-mirror chambers where physical kinetic toys and clever lighting do all the heavy lifting.
Before entering the mirror boxes, you slip on paper 3D glasses to view a wall of blacklight paintings by neon artist Alex Aliume. From there, you move through six dark micro-theaters. Inside each box, Wink mounts physical props—glow-in-the-dark Slinkies with tiny plastic aliens taped inside, expanding Hoberman spheres, spinning kinetic ribbons—and sets them in motion under blacklight to synchronized audio tracks.
