The story

From the sidewalk on South Oregon Avenue, you appear to be stepping into Sesame, a standard Hyde Park bagel joint. Punch the correct code into the keypad at the front of the shop, however, and the bakery front vanishes, giving way to a low-lit dark leather lounge tucked away behind the counters.

The Victorian duality in the name isn't just window dressing. Once you're inside, the cocktail menu arrives bound inside a hardcover storybook. Each drink comes paired with its own written backstory printed on the page, and the physical cocktails show up enclosed inside those hollowed-out hardbacks—often arriving with a puff of woodsmoke as you turn the cover.
