Owner and chef Carrie Harris hit a surprisingly practical wall late one night in downtown St. Louis: she wanted a decent cup of coffee, and everything nearby was dark. Rather than driving out of the center city, she took over the storefront right next door to her alternative dive bar at 1116 Olive Street and built Odditeas Cafe—an artistic parlor designed as a zero-pressure late-night drinking room where espresso, mocktails, and barrel-aged cocktails share space on the bar rail.
