The sanctuary is the brainchild of Portland whisky wizard Tommy Klus, built to house an obsessive 300-bottle whisky archive beneath taxidermy and low lighting. Rather than relying solely on rare pours, Klus paired the bar program with Chef Tim Artale’s Pacific Northwest small-plates menu—a combination so formidable that the team picked up the national James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar in 2026.
