Who North America
Part retail store and part museum, this is the only dedicated Doctor Who retail and museum space in North America. The free museum section showcases a massive private collection of rare Doctor Who memorabilia spanning over 50 years of the British sci-fi show.
The story
In 1998, Doctor Who fan Keith Bradbury started researching UK manufacturers to figure out how to get official British sci-fi merch into North American hands. What began as an import operation eventually expanded into a 5,000-square-foot facility off State Road 67 in Camby. Today, it remains the only storefront and museum in North America dedicated entirely to the show.
Half of the footprint operates as a retail shop for imported paperbacks, action figures, and niche gear you won't find at standard big-box stores. The other half is a free, sprawling museum holding over 50 years of show history. You're looking at private collection items ranging from vintage 1970s toys to what is billed as the largest Dalek cookie jar in North America.
What it's like
Pull up off SR 67 into a quiet commercial strip on the edge of Camby. Inside, the boundary between retail warehouse and fan archive completely disappears. You can step up to a life-sized TARDIS replica for photos, or play a few rounds on a classic Doctor Who pinball machine set up on free play. The crowd is a mix of casual stop-ins and hardcore Whovians asking staff about specific UK imports. Check their operating calendar before driving out—retail and museum hours are specific, so you don't want to roll up when the doors are locked.
The move: Snap a photo next to the full-size TARDIS, play the classic Doctor Who pinball machine for free, and hunt for the largest Dalek cookie jar in America.
