Entry No. 17 — the Charlotte file — filed under: pocket bar
The Green Room at Lincoln Street
Nestled inside Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails, this lush, 450-square-foot pocket bar is a plant-filled sanctuary open only on Friday and Saturday nights.
The story
In late 2022, Dan and Alyson Davis—the owners behind Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails and Craft Tasting Room next door—claimed 450 square feet of former retail space inside their South End building to build a hidden botanical hideaway. They brought in mixologist Amanda Britton to anchor the bar, fitting the tiny room with vertical plant walls, rich wood finishes, and hanging rattan lamps.
You won't find loud DJ booths or flashy neon here. Britton built a program centered on scratch-made, herb-forward mixology, leaning into house-infused spirits, custom fruit-and-vinegar shrubs, and house sodas. Bartenders regularly step away from the counter to present drinks directly at your table, breaking down the exact infusions and flavor profiles behind what you're sipping.
What it's like
Navigate past the main dining room at Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails to find this hidden 450-square-foot nook. Open only on Friday and Saturday nights, the atmosphere is quiet, dimly lit, and thick with hanging foliage. Seating is tight and fills up fast, making advance reservations non-negotiable. Expect small sharing plates like local cheese boards and roasted shishito peppers paired with custom shrub cocktails, all delivered with personal commentary from the mixology team.
The move: Secure a weekend reservation to this intimate, hidden garden room to share a plate of local cheeses alongside a custom-infused shrub cocktail.
