Entry No. 38 — the Austin file — filed under: night-market
NightMarket.fun (Asian Night Market)
A once-a-year, 9-acre night market where a suburban city park turns into an AANHPI street-food-and-neon celebration — 100+ vendors, multiple performance stages, and full bars, built so that every dollar spent goes straight to the vendors and performers rather than a promoter.
The story
Most food festivals in Central Texas operate as corporate cash grabs—high entry fees, marked-up food, and promoters pocketing profits while small vendors take the hit. You didn't hear it from us, but NightMarket.fun was created to bypass that exact model. Organized as a nonprofit initiative by The Lunar Foundation and the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Cedar Park, the event takes over nine acres of Lakeline Park once a year with a explicit rule: every dollar spent goes straight to the participating AANHPI vendors, artists, and stage performers rather than a middleman.
Because no corporate operator is cutting into margins, the lineup stays grounded and deeply varied. More than 100 vendor stalls set up alongside dozens of pop-up kitchens serving over 120 Asian street food dishes, complemented by anime, K-pop, gaming, and artisan markets. Two stages host martial arts, dance, and music throughout the evening, while full-service bars, open-air film screenings by the lake, and dedicated cultural zones take over the park grounds.
What it's like
You will pull into Lakeline Park on Saturday, November 14, 2026, between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM, as suburban park lawn gives way to rows of glowing stalls and grill smoke. The secret to navigating the event is timing: arrive right at 4:00 PM if you want short lines at high-demand food stalls, or show up after dark if you want the full neon backdrop and stage crowd energy. Parking near the park can clog up fast, so budget extra arrival time, bring cards or cash for individual vendor purchases, and purchase entry tickets online in advance.
The move: Show up after dark on the one night it happens (November 14, 2026), eat your way across the vendor rows, and catch a set on one of the stages before the lights come down.
