The story
On paper, 5 W 40th Street is the flagship retail front for Graveface Records—a long-running independent record label and film distributor. Walk through the door in Savannah's Starland District and the front room delivers what audio nerds come for: crates of indie releases, obscure film soundtracks, and shelves of horror VHS tapes. But keep walking past the record racks and the line between music shop and macabre cabinet of curiosities disappears entirely.
There is no velvet rope separating the pop culture from the bizarre. The back section mixes witch spell kits, insect necklaces, and retro toys alongside original serial-killer paintings, mounted raccoon arms, and—if no one has bought it yet—a full taxidermied red panda tagged for sale.
