Dark Arts at Grey Witch

Inside Grey Witch's pipe-and-tobacco lounge, you duck beneath two mounted peacocks over the mantel and step through faux flames in a fireplace to reach a macabre back room strung with skeletons, vintage Satanic Church advertisements, and cocktails menued as "potions and elixirs."

The story

From the street in Henderson, 722 West Sunset Road looks like another suburban stop along a stretch of asphalt better known for everyday errands than occult speakeasies. Grey Witch landed here in mid-2025 with a premise built around balance, live music, and food, but the primary reason to pull into the parking lot sits concealed behind the main venue's hearth.

To find it, you have to bypass the front tables and aim straight for the fireplace mantel. Overhead sit two mounted taxidermy peacocks staring down into the room. Walk straight up to the hearth and push through the faux flames flickering inside the brick opening—it pivots inward to reveal Dark Arts, a hidden back room most passersby walk right past without realizing it exists.

Inside, the atmosphere pivots completely into a macabre, low-lit refuge. Skeletons dangle from the ceiling, vintage Satanic Church print advertisements line the walls, and the drink menu abandons standard cocktail speak to classify its craft builds strictly as 'potions and elixirs.' Operating as both a cocktail bar and a pipe-and-tobacco lounge, it plays host to regular Pipe Club nights where smoke fills the air under the skeletal decor.

What it's like

Drive out to the Sunset Road strip in Henderson and head inside Grey Witch. Don't hover at the front—walk directly toward the peacock-topped fireplace, step through the simulated fire in the hearth, and pop out into the back room. Because it functions as an active tobacco lounge and hosts regular Pipe Club meetups, expect a smoky, tight-knit atmosphere. It's a localized, quiet haunt rather than a crowded Strip spectacle, but hours can fluctuate, so confirm they're open before making the trek.

The move: Walk in through the fireplace together — literally — and order matching potions under skeletal decor while working through the tobacco menu in a room most passersby have no idea exists.
