The story

From the curb on New York Street in East Lawrence, 1012 looks like any other residential house on the block. Step past the front door, though, and you walk straight into the accumulated byproduct of estate liquidator Randy Walker’s life work. Walker spent decades sifting through the forgotten basements and attics of the Midwest, bringing home the things too strange or specific for standard estate sales, slowly turning his personal living space into an unorganized hoard of pop-culture relics.

Nothing here sits behind glass or under museum spotlights. The highlights are stacked in the corners of dimly lit rooms: a claw-foot bathtub completely overflowing with hundreds of vintage sock monkeys, a pair of Elvis Presley's actual underwear, and room after room of bizarre mid-century Americana. It is less a curated exhibit and more an unfiltered cabinet of curiosities built from one man's inability to throw away history's strange side-quests.

You didn't hear it from us, but this isn't the kind of place where you buy a ticket at a turnstile and wander with an audio guide. You are visiting a guy's house. Walker personally walks you through the narrow pathways of his home, narrating the origins of individual items with the specific detail only a career estate liquidator could hold.
