The story
You don't accidentally stumble upon Blue Hell Studio. Hidden inside an unpretentious industrial park on Reinhold Drive in St. Bernard, it looks like just another bay door until you step inside and hear the rhythmic clang of steel against iron. The studio was established by Christopher Daniel—a former Hasbro toymaker and sculptor who taught himself to blacksmith while running the metal shop at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He opened the facility to combine contract metal fabrication with a working school dedicated to keeping heavy, fire-forged handcraft alive.
Forget gentle craft workshops where you make decorative trinkets out of foil. Blue Hell puts raw steel into gas forges and expects you to bend it. You learn how to move hot iron through muscle memory and hammer strokes, working across gas forges, heavy anvils, MIG welders, and angle grinders. What it's like
